1000 Funding Programme for Improving R&D Potential of Universities
The purpose of this programme is to support projects under the scope of the calls specified to improve R&D potential of universities. The duration is limited with 36 months. Upper limit for budget and other requirements are specified in call text. The programme receives online applications through thematic calls.
1001 The Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Programme
The purpose of this programme is to support research projects that comply with scientific principles for generating new information, making scientific comments or solving technological problems. The duration is limited with 36 months. For 2020, the requested budget from TÜBİTAK can be maximum 720,000 TRY (including Scholarship, excluding Project Incentive Bonus (PTI) and overhead) without annual budget limit. The budget requested for machine/equipment should be balanced with the total budget. Projects aimed at developing infrastructure are not supported.
1002 Short Term R&D Funding Programme
The aim of the Short Term R&D Funding Programme is to support emergency, short-term, small-budget research and development projects to be carried out in universities, research hospitals and research institutes. The project duration is maximum 12 months. For 2020, the requested budget from TÜBİTAK can be maximum 45,000 TRY. Project Incentive Bonus (PTI) payments are not made within the scope of this program.
1003 Primary Subjects R&D Funding Programme
The purpose of this programme is to support and coordinate national R&D projects conducted in the priority areas determined within the framework of the National Science Technology and Innovation Strategy, with results-oriented, traceable targets, considering the dynamics of the relevant science/technology fields. The project duration is maximum 24 months for small-scale projects and 36 months for medium- and large-scale projects. For 2020, the upper and lower limits of support budget (including Scholarship, excluding Project Incentive Bonus (PTI), overhead and foreign researcher expenses) are determined for projects with 3 different scales: small-scale projects up to 750,000 TRY; medium-scale projects up to 1,500,000 TRY; and large-scale projects up to 3,750,000 TRY.
1004 Center of Excellence Support Programme (available in Turkish)
The programme aims to support the establishment of high-technology platforms at higher education institutions, in cooperation with the private sector and their R&D units. The project duration is maximum 12 months. Maximum budget allowance is 100,000 TRY.
1005 National New Ideas and New Products Research Funding Programme
The aim of the programme is to support applied research and/or experimental development projects for the purpose of developing a new national/international product/process/method/model that will decrease our dependence on foreign technology and/or increase Turkey’s competitiveness. The project duration is maximum 18 months. For 2020, the requested budget from TUBITAK can be maximum 300,000 TRY (including Scholarship, excluding Project Incentive Bonus (PTI) and overhead) without annual budget limit.
1007 Public Institutions Research Funding Programme
The purpose of the programme is to solve the R&D based problems or satisfy their R&D based requirements by means of result-oriented R&D projects and to create awareness of R&D in public institutions. The projects proposed are assigned to one of the following units according to the subject of the project: Public Research Grant Group (KAMAG) and Defence and Security Technologies Research Grant Group (SAVTAG). Project duration is limited to 48 months. There are no budgetary limitations per project.
3001 Starting R&D Projects Funding Programme
The programme aims to support the projects proposed by researchers who are from university, government institution and private R&D firms and do not participate in a project as a principal investigator granted by TUBITAK ARDEB (Research Support Programs Directorate). The maximum project duration is 24 months for each project proposed under the program. The maximum grant amount is 60,000 TRY (except for project promotion bonus for researchers and public and private institution allocation (10% of the total project budget)) regardless of the project duration.
3501 Career Development Programme (CAREER)
The Programme aims to encourage the studies of scientists with PhD degree, who have just started their careers. It is designed to improve their scientific excellence to increase the role of science in the development of the country. The project duration is maximum 36 months. For 2020, CAREER projects support upper limit (including scholarship, excluding Project Incentive Bonus (PTI) and overhead) is 360,000 TRY without annual budget limitation.
