DIGITAL EUROPE

The Digital Europe Program (DAP) is the EU's new financing program with a total budget of €7.5 billion for 2021-2027, focusing on building strategic digital capacities across Europe and expanding the use of digital technologies. The national coordination of the Program is carried out in Turkey by the Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

Program Objectives

  • To support and accelerate the digital transformation of the European economy, industry and society,
  • Enabling EU citizens, public institutions and businesses to benefit from digital transformation,
  • Ensuring EU competitiveness in the global digital economy,
  • Reducing the EU's external dependence on digital technology and infrastructures and ensuring its strategic autonomy,
  • To help reduce the digital divide within the Union.

Priority Areas of the Program
The program will primarily support the establishment of critical digital infrastructures in the fields of High Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Data and Cyber Security, and the development of innovative digital technologies of strategic importance. In the second phase, it is aimed to make the established infrastructures and digital technologies accessible to SMEs, public institutions and citizens and to expand their use. In this context, five specific objectives have been identified:

  • Specific Objective 3: Cybersecurity and Trust
  • Specific Objective 4: Advanced Digital Skills
  • Specific Objective 5: Deployment, Best Use of Digital Capacity and Interoperability
